Track Your Team only works if you run with your smartphone (in your pocket, armband, belt, backpackβ¦). Your Garmin or COROS watch sends positions to the phone via Bluetooth, and the phone forwards the data to Garmin/COROS servers via 4G/5G/Wi-Fi. Without a phone connected to the internet during the activity, real-time sharing is impossible (except for watch models with built-in eSIM LTE).
With a Garmin watch (LiveTrack)
LiveTrack is built into most compatible Garmin watches (Forerunner, Fenix, Edge, Epix, Venu, etc.) via the Garmin Connect app.
On your smartphone:
- Open the Garmin Connect app
- Go to "More" β "Safety & Tracking" β "LiveTrack"
- Tap "Sharing Settings"
- Check "Email"
- Tap "Recipients", then "Add Recipients" and enter the email addresses of those who will automatically receive the link
π‘ Tip: if an "Auto Start" option is available in the same menu, enable it so LiveTrack starts with every activity (depending on your Garmin Connect version).
Start your activity on your watch as usual. If auto-start is enabled, an email containing the share link is sent immediately to your configured recipients.
The link looks like: https://livetrack.garmin.com/session/.../token/...
If your coach is in the recipient list, they already get it by email. They will paste it into Track Your Team.

With a COROS watch (Safety Alerts)
COROS Safety Alerts are available on compatible models via the COROS app. When you start an outdoor activity, an email with a live tracking link is automatically sent to your emergency contacts.
Your phone and watch must remain close together (Bluetooth active), with the COROS app running in the background. Your phone must also be connected to cellular service so contacts can be notified.
On your smartphone:
- Open the COROS app
- Go to the profile page and select "Safety Alerts"
- Add at least one emergency contact (from your phone's contacts, or manually)
Added contacts will automatically receive the tracking link via email at each activity, and a text message if you trigger an SOS alert.
Start an outdoor activity on your COROS watch. An email with the live tracking link is sent immediately to your emergency contacts.
The link looks like: https://s.coros.com/...
If your coach is in your emergency contact list, they already receive the link by email. They will paste it into Track Your Team.
COROS Safety Alerts also let you trigger an SOS by holding the dial button or backlight button for 7 seconds. This notifies your contacts via SMS with your GPS position and lat/lon coordinates. Handy in case of a fall or trouble during a race.
COROS Safety Alerts only notify the contacts you have added. They do not contact local emergency services and should not be used as your primary means of getting help.

With Strava Beacon
Strava Beacon is available to Strava subscribers, from the Strava app on iPhone or Apple Watch. When you start an activity, a live tracking link is sent by SMS to your safety contacts.
A cellular connection is required during the activity (Apple Watch with eSIM, or your iPhone with you). The SMS with the link is sent automatically when recording starts.
In the Strava app on iPhone: open settings, the Beacon section, and add up to 3 safety contacts. For Apple Watch, then enable Beacon in the Strava Apple Watch app settings (status "Ready").
Start recording your activity. An SMS with the link is sent to your safety contacts.
The link looks like: https://www.strava.com/beacon/...
The link is also available in the Beacon settings of the Strava iPhone app once the activity has started: copy it and send it to your coach (SMS, email, WhatsAppβ¦). They'll paste it into Track Your Team.

Good to know
- Phone required: your smartphone must remain paired with the watch and have an internet connection throughout the activity
- Unique link per session: a new link is generated for each new activity (the old one becomes inactive)
- Auto-ends: the session closes automatically when you stop the activity on your watch
- No data stored on our side: Track Your Team has no servers of its own. Your coach sees your live position on their device, but nothing is kept after the race.
Your coach wants to know how to use the app?
Once the link is shared, your coach can check the dedicated guide.
